The UAE has one of the largest concentrations of date palm trees in the world. Each palm tree, replaces 12-15 new leaves every year, generating about 1.2 million tons of biowaste. Most of this green waste is discarded at dump sites, or worse, burned. By blending the date palm tree biowaste with other biodegradable polymers extracted from corn or sugarcane, we’ve arrived at a new composite material that can become biodegradable products that work similarly to plastic disposables but is eco-friendly to the environment. We call it Palmade. Our products are a perfect solution for restaurants, hotels, events, and all types of food outlets looking for a local alternative that is certified biodegradable and compostable.Our Products: Unlike our competitors, our product was researched, patented, certified and is fully produced here in Dubai. Our inventors include a team of students and professionals from the UAE, Brazil, India, Jordan and Uganda. The palm biomass we use are a direct diversion from landfills, helping our city better manage its green waste. Our product is produced utilizing non-toxic, food-grade materials and has been designated safe to use by Dubai Municipality.
